Pharmaceutical Ventilation
In pharmaceutical ventilation, it’s crucial to collect dust without capturing active chemicals. Ecogate’s smart extraction system measures air velocities at each gate, maintaining the correct range.
Air temperature control is a common requirement in the chemical industry. Ecogate systems typically remove 50% less air from the building, reducing the amount of air required from the make-up air system.
This helps you achieve three times higher savings on your make-up air system. Across the board, Ecogate helps cut your pharmaceutical ventilation costs in half.
How Can Ecogate Help with Pharmaceutical Dust Collection?
Pharmaceutical dust collection systems are largely inefficient with a large amount of energy waste. So what exactly makes Ecogate different from other pharmaceutical ventilation systems on the market?
Unlike other dust collection systems which operate all the time, Ecogate knows when a machine is on and provides suction only to operating workstations. The Ecogate sensors, installed at each workstation, communicate with the greenBOX control unit that a machine is on. This tells the automatic blast gates to open up providing extraction to the machine. To further eliminate wasted energy, the Powermaster Variable Frequency Drive adjusts the fan speed to match the machine’s requirements.
What makes Ecogate even better is its scalability to your operation. The biggest greenBOX unit allows you to manage up to 180 workstations to suit facilities of any size. If this isn’t enough you can simply add another unit, which means the system can be scaled up as your operation grows.

INSTALLING YOUR ECOGATE SYSTEM
After you calculate how much you could be saving, a member of the Ecogate team will be in touch with you to discuss your requirements and book a site evaluation. Once we have completed an on-site inspection to assess your needs, we’ll put together a bespoke quote tailored to your requirements.
Following this we can order the products needed for your Ecogate installation and our engineers will be in touch with you to book an installation date. After your system has been installed and calibrated, we also offer maintenance packages to make sure it continues to function at optimal levels.

HIGH SEAT LTD
Ecogate helps lower extraction costs for High Seat.
“We are delighted to be the first manufacturer in the UK to benefit from Ecogate’s latest advances in energy-saving technology.”
Ben Waters, Group Operations Director at HSL
“To exert some control over extraction usage, ductwork connections to each of the traditional machines had previously been fitted with individual, manually-operated dampers but, with the best will in the world, manual operation could never match the efficiency of Ecogate’s computer-controlled, on-demand extraction system.”
Sales Engineer Tom Firth
TOM HOWLEY
Ecogate installation at Tom Howley makes for a quiet, dust-free factory, that’s only half the price to run.
“Everyone is delighted with the job Extractly have done here; we now have a fully-automated, future-proofed system which just gets on quietly and efficiently with the task of dust extraction — levels of both dust and noise on the factory floor have been reduced significantly. We were also very impressed with the standard of work, and the way Extractly handled every aspect of what was a very time-contingent contract.”

Substantial cost savings with ECOGATE greenBOX NXT installation
“I’ve been really impressed with the level of service Extractly have provided. From Jake’s initial visit through to final commissioning of the new installation, communication at each step of the process has been excellent and, with the way energy costs are rising at the moment, it’s been the perfect time to have invested in Ecogate’s latest technology.”

Why is ventilation important in pharmaceutical facilities?
Having effective ventilation is crucial within pharmaceutical facilities to maintain a controlled environment. Proper ventilation helps to control the temperature, humidity and prevents the cross contamination of airborne particles, including dust and harmful fumes. With Ecogate, you can effectively control your pharmaceutical ventilation and efficiently monitor your extraction systems, promoting a safer work environment. What are the regulatory considerations for pharmaceutical ventilation?
The Control of Substance Hazardous to Health Regulation 2002 (COSHH) states that every employer should prevent exposure to hazardous substances. If this cannot be achieved, there should be measures to control the exposure. This regulation includes that one of the protective measures that should be followed is adequate ventilation systems. How often should pharmaceutical ventilation systems be inspected and maintained?
Any extraction system that removes dust and vapours must be maintained to make sure they are working efficiently. Your pharmaceutical ventilation system should have a thorough inspection every 14 months. This ensures that your pharmaceutical ventilation system is running correctly and providing the necessary protection.
